Union Street Meet Up

February 14, 2024

This month we give a big shout out to Kate Wareham, CEO of The Choir With No Name for hosting the gunnercooke Foundation inspire* Yorkshire hub meeting chaired by Joan Pettingill.

Joan regularly volunteers and chairs the gc Foundation hub meetings which meet approximately every other month in various locations around Yorkshire. The purpose of the meetings is to provide a forum for CEOs of small charities to meet and share challenges and opportunities in a safe and welcoming environment. Using the special gunnercooke Foundation know how, we help charities to do good faster, supporting one another with expertise.

As well as working on our business plans and challenges, we watched a very moving video about the work of our host charity, The Choir With No Name. CWNN is a charity which supports homeless people through choirs across the country. Of course, the participants in the choir do have names and it was a very moving experience to find out more about the organisation and its choir.

The snacks and refreshments were a real treat too and Union Street at Sheffield was the perfect venue.

If you would like further information about the gunnercooke Foundation or are interested as a small charity in joining one of our hub membership groups, please contact us.
